GSS Mud Logging Analyst**** MUST BE LOCAL TO NEW IBERIA , LA AND US CITIZEN***
Position Overview The GSS Mud Logging Analyst is responsible for ensuring
safe, efficient, and reliable Product and Service Delivery (PSD)
to customers. This role involves
monitoring well conditions , collecting and analyzing geological samples, maintaining sensors and data acquisition systems, and delivering
high-quality, accurate well data
to customers at the wellsite.
The Mud Logging Analyst plays a critical part in supporting drilling operations by providing timely and factual geological and operational information while ensuring strict compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, record, and process well data and parameters to ensure accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting.
Describe lithology and analyze rock cuttings to provide geological insights to the customer.
Collect, label, and preserve geological samples following established procedures.
Operate and maintain mud logging sensors, data acquisition systems, and unit equipment.
Compile and deliver daily reports, End of Well Reports, and ad hoc reports as requested by customers.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the offshore mud logging unit.
Interact professionally with customer representatives and other service providers at the wellsite.
Maintain confidentiality of customer data and follow all data security protocols.
Participate in risk analysis, safety meetings, and continuous improvement programs.
Always wear PPE and comply with all HSE policies and safety training requirements.
Experience & Skills
Experience: 0–2 years preferred; open to entry-level candidates and recent graduates with strong technical aptitude.
Deepwater experience is a plus but not required.
No specific software experience required—training will be provided.
Strong teamwork, adaptability, and schedule flexibility.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and data accuracy.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required; Geoscience or related field preferred.
Certifications
TWIC Card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
RigPass / SafeGulf Certification
HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training)
