As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. BASIC FUNCTION: Security Officers must perform protective and enforcement functions with a service mind. A courteous and restrained manner is required when coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property. Security Officers must maintain a safe and secure environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma preferred.
Prior security training of any kind preferred.
CPR certification and first aid training preferred.
Essential Functions
Spend majority of shift on foot patrol, walking, climbing stairs of the interior and perimeter of the hotel to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions.
Requires the use of a two-way radio, bending, stooping and kneeling.
Maintain order in the hotel. Assist with door lock issues, coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, tornadoes or safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a rational and persuasive manner.
Handle undesired conduct, violations of hotel policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of hotel guests, employees, patrons and property.
Requires grasping, lifting and or carrying or otherwise moving persons, packages, luggage, wheelchairs and safety equipment.
Answer all security radio calls and/or telephone calls and respond in a timely manner based on priority.
Observe the CCTV monitors for any unusual activity and report directly, via radio, to the supervisor on duty; report any alarms similarly.
Assist in safety documentation such as inside and outside light checks and filling of First Aid Boxes.
Use a clear, concise English speaking voice, listen with empathy, provide accurate information and document legibly all appropriate incident information.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards.
Marginal Functions
Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
All employees must maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance.
Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:
Housekeeping: Every aspect of housekeeping, aside from turndown services and full cleaning services.
Engineering: Plunging of toilets, resetting of PTAC Unit assist with any major building malfunctions.
Bell Staff: Every aspect of Bell Staff.
Room Service: The removal of used trays from the Hallways, provided cutlery.
Concierge: It is not required but this does provide that extra touch of service when knowledgeable on points of interest surrounding Lake Geneva.
Banquets: If boxes of products are out in the open, place them in preferred areas of the hotel. (Direction given by supervisor). Disorganized banquet rooms, such as dirty dishes and furniture out of place, is to be organized and made presentable. (Done only with given the time.)
Environment Walking the grounds, possibly in adverse weather conditions, including snow, wind, ice, and freezing conditions. Office environment with overhead lights, floor drain and alcohol containers. Constant employee contact and guest contact.
