Position Highlights Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Case Management Nurse to join our Bariatrics team in Omaha, NE. The Case Management Nurse is responsible for coordinating and managing care for patients undergoing medical and surgical weight‑loss treatment, including pre‑operative assessment, patient education, insurance and care plan coordination, post‑operative follow‑up, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to support safe, effective, and cost‑efficient patient outcomes.

Shift Details Full‑Time Position | 1.0 FTE | 40 Scheduled Weekly Hours
Monday – Friday | 8 AM – 5 PM

Job Duties Manage a system of patient care delivery for a designated group of patients to achieve high‑quality, cost‑effective outcomes across the continuum of health care.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of three years nursing experience.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and make independent clinical judgments.
Experience with basic patient care equipment, policy procedure and protocol manuals.
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team.
Effective critical thinking/analytical skills.
Ability to effectively evaluate care across the continuum.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or current compact state license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – department dependent.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior nursing experience in a related field.
Prior experience in oncology, cardiovascular care, neonatal intensive care, nephrology, solid organ transplantation, general medical/surgical care, emergency care, critical care, med spa, dialysis, interpretation, and explanation of physical/laboratory/screening results.
Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.
Successful completion of a nephrology nurse education program.
Knowledge of health care financial environment and reimbursement systems.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
Experience with graphic software.
Experience with patient teaching materials.
Understanding of related patient registries and databases.
Experience leading/supervising a team.
Certification preferred in one or more of the following areas: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse, Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN), Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy, transplant coordination, and/or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
