Job Description The mechanical project engineer will support a team in implementing piping and mechanical systems for large‑scale industrial construction projects, taking the project from pre‑construction through final acceptance.
Direct responsibilities include project safety and quality, budget, schedule, vendor management, submittals, and procedural compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including planning, procurement, design review, and project controls.
Ensure engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule.
Prepare documents to obtain vendor quotes for materials, equipment, and specialty items.
Track material deliveries and interface with departments, divisions, and internal staff for budgeting, staffing, training, scheduling, and other activities.
Review engineering plans and vendor submittals.
Monitor crew assignments to ensure productivity goals are met.
Conduct field walks and spot checks of work performed.
Ensure compliance with county, state, and OSHA policies and regulations.
Required Skills
2+ years of experience as a construction project engineer.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
