Job Summary The Production Controller is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence through material flow across their designated area of responsibility, in line with the Team Leader’s direction. The role involves understanding operational flow and scheduling systems to perform a variety of functions, including material distribution and transportation of all goods and services that support the Company’s operations. The position supports stores, receiving, shipping, returned/finished goods, and inventory control/movement. This role is not classified as a safety-sensitive position under FAA regulations and is not subject to random drug testing.
Job Responsibilities
Work with various departments to prioritize work orders and manufacturing or tool set‑up tasks in an assigned production cell. Assist supervision and workforce in resolving work order or shop supply discrepancies, problems, and/or concerns.
Utilize standardized practices to securely package products to prevent damage during transit.
Coordinate pick and delivery of work with internal and external stakeholders.
Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Ensure adherence to all local, federal laws, regulations, and safety procedures in shipping processes.
Maintain a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.
Exemplify a safety‑first mindset and ensure that GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are applied, making the area a model of a world‑class healthy and safe working environment.
Drive the disciplined and rigorous maintenance behind the Lean Operating Model (LOM) pull system across assigned areas.
Cooperate with the Team Leader to ensure the best production control outcomes for the entire area.
Satisfy timely completion of assigned tasks.
Ensure that all blades needed for the production process are available on time between work centres per the pull system.
Coordinate with management and the production control team members to ensure production needs are met efficiently and effectively.
Review production reports to identify potential problems with the process and communicate findings to management.
Train new members of staff in production processes and pull system.
Implement improvements to production methods/pull system to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Investigate and resolve any problems that arise during the production process.
Ensure the company’s commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and protecting the environment through policy enforcement and adherence to government regulations.
Fully comply with the “GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government” in all contracting activities. Ensure subordinate staff is aware of policy obligations.
Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
Job Qualifications – Required
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
1–3+ years of manufacturing or warehousing and logistics experience, including some ERP/MRP experience.
Basic computer and math skills.
Practitioner level for internal flow & warehousing.
Experience with material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, and motorized transportation vehicle).
Fluent English (speaking and reading).
Job Qualifications – Preferred

Flat‑bed truck driving experience.
Inventory/production control experience.
Time‑management skills.
Problem‑solving skills.
Soft skills from a leadership framework.
Communication skills.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

Compensation Range The compensation range for this position is between $20.00 and $23.00 per hour.
