Position Overview
The Dallas office of Thompson Coe, LLP seeks an attorney with 3 to 10 years’ experience in civil litigation to join the Professional Liability section of the firm. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, excellent advocacy and writing skills, and litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and attending mediations.
Valid Texas BAR license required.
Responsibilities
Defend architects, engineers, attorneys, community associations, accountants, directors and officers, insurance agents and brokers, and real estate professionals in breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, malpractice, and negligence cases.
Handle day‑to‑day aspects of professional liability work—including client meetings, reporting, investigations, taking and attending depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Independently manage cases or work closely with a partner, depending on the size and exposure of the case.
Work on administrative/transactional matters as needed.
Qualifications
3 to 10 years of experience in civil litigation.
Working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure.
Excellent advocacy and writing skills.
Litigation experience, including depositions, motions, and mediations.
Valid Texas BAR license.
