seeks an attorney with 2 to 7 years' experience in civil litigation to join the
Casualty
section of the firm. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, excellent advocacy and writing skills, and an ability to effectively manage deadlines on a docket of cases. Litigation experience is preferred and previous experience with billing and client and insurance carrier reporting is strongly preferred. Valid Texas BAR license required. The associate in this position will defend a variety of casualty cases, including wrongful death and survival actions, products liability, premises liability, dramshop, trucking and transportation, construction litigation, and other matters involving catastrophic personal injuries and/or property damage. The associate will handle the day-to-day aspects of these cases, including client meetings, reporting and investigation, discovery and motion practice, and taking and attending depositions, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and/or trials. Depending on the size and exposure of the case, the candidate will independently handle the case or work closely with a partner. Why Thompson Coe
