Overview
The Houston office of Thompson Coe, LLP seeks an attorney with 2 to 7 years of experience in civil litigation to join the Casualty section. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, excellent advocacy and writing skills, and excellent communication and organization skills. Litigation experience is preferred and previous experience with billing and client and insurance carrier reporting is strongly preferred. A valid Texas BAR license is required. Responsibilities
Defend a variety of casualty cases, including wrongful death and survival actions, products liability, premises liability, dramshop, trucking and transportation, construction litigation, and other matters involving catastrophic personal injuries and/or property damage. Handle the day-to-day aspects of these cases, including client meetings, reporting and investigation, discovery and motion practice, and taking and attending depositions, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and/or trials. Independently handle cases or work closely with a partner depending on the size and exposure of the case. Qualifications
2 to 7 years of experience in civil litigation. Working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure. Excellent advocacy and writing skills; strong communication and organizational abilities.
