Principal Platform Integration Engineer – Mayo Clinic Platform Lead and direct the execution and delivery of all technical aspects of Mayo Clinic Platform’s technology roadmap. Work closely with the VP, Platform Technology, Mayo IT Technical Architect, and cross‑functional teams to provide technical guidance, roadmap alignment, and enterprise‑wide technical liaison.

Responsibilities

Apply well‑architected framework principles to design, develop, and deploy key foundational components of Mayo Clinic Platform.

Develop, build, and support highly complex systems or functions that enhance the platform’s supportability, maintainability, and extensibility.

Act as a key liaison to design and deploy configuration standards for onboarding new solutions, driving reuse and standardization.

Collaborate with product and solutions teams to understand integration opportunities, develop repeatable mechanisms, and minimize single‑use integrations.

Partner with solutions, implementation, and support teams to design, develop, and deploy management and support tooling (e.g., monitoring, surveillance, logging) for platform operations.

Assist in developing and overseeing compliance with SLAs/OLAs in partnership with implementation/services teams.

Support the execution of Mayo Clinic Platform’s technical roadmap.

Collaborate with Mayo Clinic IT, Mayo Clinic Cloud, and the Center of Digital Health to leverage emerging capabilities within the platform.

Partner with IT groups to create unified, operational, and scalable platform capabilities.

Mentor and coach technical team members, fostering growth and systems‑based thinking.

Define and implement proper SDLC processes in sync with PDLC processes.

Contribute strategic vision on how technology and systems enable business strategy, growth, and competitive positioning.

Conduct rapid investigations into new and emerging technologies, including POC configuration, to identify opportunities for extending or improving the platform.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant IT field or minimum 10 years of direct full‑stack engineering experience with increasing complexity, or 5 years in a principal engineer capacity.

3–5 years of project management, system architecture, and design experience.

3–5 years working in diverse environments, utilizing Agile software development principles.

Principal level experience with hyperscale cloud environments (Google preferred; AWS or Azure considered).

Experience with enterprise information security systems and applications in a public cloud environment; strong understanding of healthcare considerations such as HIPAA and HITRUST.

Principal level experience in DevOps and CI/CD principles.

Experience delivering and supporting clinical systems.

Experience with cloud architecture, deployments, and management in an enterprise setting.

Experience with interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.

Experience with solutions integration and delivery in a healthcare setting.

Desired characteristics: proven ability to drive and lead technology development, manage resources strategically, and guide technology change management; business acumen and effective communication with business leaders and external partners; ability to think beyond technology to create value; solid technical foundation combined with forward‑looking strategic skills.
