Role Summary Our client, a leading building materials supplier, is seeking a

Vice President of Commercial / Sales

to lead the company’s commercial strategy and revenue growth across multiple product lines, markets, and channels. This executive will oversee all sales, pricing, distribution, and customer relationship functions across cement, aggregates, and related building material products.

As a key member of the executive leadership team, this person will set the commercial vision, align operations with market opportunities, and drive performance across regional and national accounts. The ideal candidate brings deep industry experience, strategic rigor, and a track record of scaling sales organizations in a competitive, commodity-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Set and execute the commercial strategy

across all business lines — including pricing, margin management, channel mix, and market segmentation.

Lead and develop sales teams

across bulk, bagged, and distribution channels; provide coaching, accountability, and structure to drive performance.

Manage key relationships

with distributors, contractors, builders, and end-users to expand market share and ensure customer satisfaction.

Collaborate cross-functionally

with operations, supply chain, logistics, and marketing to align supply planning, inventory, and demand forecasting.

Oversee pricing and contract negotiations , including bids, RFPs, and long-term agreements with customers and partners.

Monitor competitive activity and market trends

to anticipate shifts, identify opportunities, and adjust strategy accordingly.

Develop and manage sales forecasts, KPIs, and reporting dashboards

to measure performance and guide decisions.

Drive expansion into new regions and verticals , identifying opportunities for growth through partnerships, new channels, or strategic initiatives.

Maintain pricing discipline and margin oversight

while supporting growth and customer retention objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

10+ years of progressive commercial and sales leadership

experience in building materials, cement, aggregates, or other industrial/commodity-based businesses.

Demonstrated success leading large, geographically dispersed sales teams and managing both direct and distribution channels.

Strong commercial acumen with deep experience in pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and margin management.

Proven ability to develop go-to-market strategies

and scale revenues across multiple business units or regions.

Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills with customers, peers, and executive teams.

Willingness to travel regionally and nationally as needed.
