Major Duties and Responsibilities
Build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and dataset visuals.
Model data for reporting using basic star‑schema principles.
Manage relationships, data types, and simple row‑level security with guidance.
Write basic DAX measures and use Power Query (M) for light transformations.
Definitions, Documentation, and Change
Create and maintain attribute and metric definitions within the business glossary.
Build and maintain how-to articles and troubleshooting notes within our knowledgebase.
Follow the documentation lifecycle for your work: scope of work, technical specifications, change implementation plans, change management requests, test cases, and release notes.
Deliver Process and Quality
Use our BI delivery workflow to deliver content to business units.
Perform basic data quality checks and reconciliations.
Document defects and mitigations and escalate when needed.
Track tasks and meet SLAs for ad‑hoc requests, keeping your tickets and documentation up to date.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Translate stakeholder questions into analysis requirements with clear definitions of metrics and visuals.
Communicate insights clearly to non‑technical audiences.
Work closely with business units to prioritize intake requests, coordinate UAT and release timing, and drive adoption of self‑service reports.
Standards, Governance, and CoE
Handle data according to privacy, security, and access‑control policies.
Participate in and support the BI CoE (attend sessions, share tips, adopt standards, contribute examples/templates).
Education/Certifications/Licenses Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field. Microsoft PL-300 certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment).
Experience Zero to two years experience in data analysis and business intelligence.
Skills
SQL proficiency with relational databases; ability to write selects, joins, filters, and aggregations.
Power BI: visuals, basic modeling, basic DAX, light transformations in Power Query (M).
Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail skills.
Comfortable working independently and in a team.
Familiar with data warehousing concepts (dimensions, facts, grain, slowly changing attributes).
Familiar with Python for basic analyses.
Experience with code repositories (e.g., GitHub, Azure DevOps) a plus.
ADA Requirements Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work for long periods of time with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely sustain repetitive motion while using computer keyboard for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
