Senior Mechanical Engineer (Auxiliary)
Location: US-MD-Baltimore
Overview AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee‑owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and evaluate operation of marine vessels, shipboard auxiliary systems and piping, review and develop technical data packages, provide oversight on development of machinery arrangements, conduct and oversee trade studies.
Lead engineers in development efforts, coordinate with other functional areas to complete ship design.
Knowledge of ABS, USN, and industry standards relating to shipboard auxiliary systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer, Ocean Engineering or related field
Active Secret Clearance
U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
6 years' documented experience with design, optimization, and integration of marine auxiliary and piping systems, ship machinery integration, cargo handling systems, and weight handling systems calculations and analyses.
Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee‑owners. The salary range for this position is USD $91,600.00/Yr. - USD $153,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
