What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Develop and execute a strategic plan to enhance the human research protection program and align with organizational goals
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines, including AAHRPP accreditation and federal regulations
Provide leadership and guidance to Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and ensure proper protocol review and compliance oversight
Collaborate with various offices to expand access to and participation in clinical trials
Lead training and mentoring efforts for staff and study teams on best practices and ethical considerations in research
What is Required (Qualifications)
Master's degree or equivalent
10+ years of relevant experience in a research institution or academic medical center
Proven leadership in regulatory compliance and IRB oversight
Strong strategic planning and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with AAHRPP accreditation processes and requirements
Strong change management experience and the ability to implement enterprise IRB systems
Engagement with relevant professional organizations and accrediting bodies
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIP, CCRC, CRA)
Experience with clinical research management and Good Clinical Practices (GCP)
