Join the SharePoint Developer/Administrator role at SMS Data Products Group, Inc. SMS has a full‑time opportunity for a candidate to join the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Development Operations team at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM.
The ideal candidate provides application development support to AFRL by applying industry‑standard software engineering methodologies while developing and maintaining application solutions.
The role requires Microsoft SharePoint Site Collection Administrator experience, familiarity with SharePoint architecture principles, and experience in supporting and securing the platform as well as monitoring system usage to optimize performance.
The candidate will develop software for all life‑cycle activities with a focus on Agile/Scrum methodologies using modern development platforms in accordance with AFRL application requirements.
Responsibilities
Configure, manage, and customize SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and permissions.
Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management.
Work in low‑code/no‑code environments, including workflows that integrate customer business rules (SharePoint Workflows, O365 Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps).
Analyze existing code (ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS) and requirements for replacement in new environments.
Design, develop, test and deploy applications utilizing JavaScript, CSS, HTML, ASP.NET, and/or C#.
Develop and customize SharePoint solutions using Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI and other relevant technologies.
Create and maintain custom SharePoint web parts, workflows, forms, and applications to meet specific business requirements.
Implement and manage SharePoint branding and themes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, MIS or related field preferred; high‑school diploma required if no higher education.
Three to five years’ experience in software development in a web environment, Microsoft SharePoint, and .NET web development, plus experience with DISA security standardization processes and application of DISA STIGs.
Familiarity with Microsoft platform tools: SharePoint 2013, O365 (SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Forms).
Strong critical‑thinking skills, self‑starter, capable of directing team activities, and diplomatic.
Ability to multitask, adapt to a dynamic environment, and be dependable and reliable.
Experience with Site Collection Management/Administration of MS SharePoint 2013/2016/Online.
Experience assisting individuals in problem solving using SharePoint.
Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with business stakeholders/users.
Ability to apply standard software engineering methods and project lifecycle management techniques.
Ability to write and update user and administrator documentation in compliance with customer specifications.
Assist in project development, capturing functional and technical requirements.
Work independently or collaboratively with other developers.
Actively participate in and contribute to Agile/Scrum software development processes.
Understanding of code design industry standards/style guides to standardize code formatting and peer review efficiency.
Familiarity with Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guides (DISA STIGs) including Web Server STIG, Application Security and Development STIG, SQL Server STIG, and Cloud SRG.
Prior experience in a government consulting services environment is preferred.
Active DoD SECRET clearance required or ability to obtain an interim clearance.
Minimum DoD 8570 IAT‑II (Sec+ CE) certification required.
