Location: Chicago, Illinois Business Unit: Rush Medical Center Hospital: Rush University Medical Center Department: Pharmacotherapy Clinic Work Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0) Shift: Shift 1 Work Schedule: 8 Hr (9:00:00 AM - 5:00:00 PM) Pay Range: $53.73 - $84.63 per hour Rush offers exceptional rewards and benefits. Job Responsibilities

Order verification, discharge counseling, projects, and education of other healthcare professionals. Evaluate and verify Epic physician orders for therapeutic appropriateness, dosing, drug interactions, allergies, route and rate of administration, and therapeutic redundancy. Clarify physicians' orders through direct and timely contact with prescribers when necessary. Provide patient-specific pharmacotherapy recommendations and drug information to medical and nursing staff. Document clinical interventions using the department's current method. Perform daily review of pharmacy reports including pharmacokinetic monitoring and other patient-specific reports. Conduct monthly nursing unit inspections of medication storage areas as assigned. Supervise pharmacy technician staff involved in preparation and delivery of medications, coordinating workflows with delivery schedules. Coordinate medication ordering, preparation, dispensing, and administration systems for the patient populations described. Implement all drug use policy and formulary decisions of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee. Participate in SE (ADR and medication error) reporting programs. Complete clinical and operational activities as designated by the departmental management team (e.g., Pyxis inventory optimization, process improvement projects). Precept pharmacy students and residents (PGY1 and PGY2) as assigned in clinical and operational areas. Assess and evaluate medical and drug literature to compare therapeutic regimens for new or existing drug treatments. Implement medication safety initiatives as determined by current departmental needs and ongoing projects. Develop operational and clinical projects as determined by departmental needs and ongoing projects. Serve as a liaison with other departments for collaborative research activity. Evaluate and monitor drug therapy relative to ambulatory care patient needs in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Actively participate in professional organizations. Required Job Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Illinois Pharmacist License. Minimum of four years of clinical pharmacy experience OR PGY1 residency completed within the last seven years, which includes clinical/specialty pharmacy experience. Knowledge in intravenous admixture services, intravenous drug therapy and chemotherapy. Ability to work effectively with others to provide safe and effective drug therapy. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and quickly in resolving a wide range of problems. Preferred Job Qualifications

BLS Certification. ACLS Certification (or to be obtained upon hire). Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties board certification. Doctor of Pharmacy degree and residency certificate. Experience and knowledge in specialty drug therapies. Note: This is a grant-funded position through 2026 with the ability to work remotely and some on-site responsibilities.
