Location: Pensacola, FL. Estimated time to fill: December 2025. GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Developer/Architect II in Pensacola, FL. This position will support Training and Education Management Systems for Naval Education and Training Command (NETC). The primary focus is the Navy Enlisted Advancement System (NEAS). Beginning pay is $47,000. Responsibilities Provide high?quality software engineering advisory services, software systems planning, integration, and architecture support. Support, maintain, and enhance software using a technology stack that includes AWS technologies, Visual Studio/C#, JavaScript, and SQL Server databases. Fix bugs, convert legacy code, and develop new software features. Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure reliability and correctness of the code. Participate in production deployment processes, release planning, documentation, and scripting. Perform integration testing across development, staging, and production environments. Ensure the system complies with all DoD standards. Maintain ATO controls through all SDLC phases, including static and dynamic application security testing. Follow government guidance for strategy, planning, documentation, and implementation during software development and integration efforts. Implement STIGs and maintain artifacts to ensure an authority to operate (ATO) exists for the system. Maintain SQL Server databases used by the NEAS application. Conduct hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET?accredited or CAE?designated institution, or six (6) years of experience in lieu of a degree. DoD?issued Secret Security Clearance required at start. IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ce, or SSCP) certification required at start. Hands?on experience with Visual Studio/C# and JavaScript/JQuery development. Cloud?based development experience, preferably in AWS GovCloud. Proficiency in SQL and Git. Knowledge of JavaScript libraries and frameworks. AWS Cloud Practitioner certification desired. Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and container images desired. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross?functional teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
