Job Brief We are looking for a proficient Floor Planner to join our North American Space & Floor organization. The Floor Planner is responsible for creating compelling store layouts grounded in the best and most current macro-space principles and compliant with company- and store-related micro-space requirements. The successful candidate will be a quick-learning, self-starting team player with a strong grasp of floor-planning technology whose floor plans guide the shopper through the store in a logical and pleasurable manner while contributing to our business goal. Finally, to thrive in the role, the retail floor planner should be passionate about spending time in-stores to experience macro space planning, truly understand the marketplace, and see their work come to life.
Responsibilities
Using company standards, creates and maintains customized floor plans using RELEX software for all store types, including existing stores, new stores, remodeled stores, and prototype stores
Acts as subject-matter expert on floor-planning tools
Develop store layouts employing company/industry best practices in space allocation, product placement, and customer flow best practices. Works closely with merchandising and space-planning teams to ensure accuracy of plans
Contributes to the maintenance of accurate merchandise categories and fixture libraries
Understands how to utilize shopper insights and analytics to optimize category and set sizes and adjacencies
Able to measure/evaluate floor plan and/or merchandise-planning effectiveness and offer improvements as needed. Able to provide clear, easy-to-understand reporting on the success of macro space efforts.
Gains local insights through direct retail field experience to complement other data/analytics to create truly differentiated customized local floor plans
Acts as seamless, eager, and trusted member of cross-functional team both at local store and centrally to ensure execution of plans and company strategic goals
Naturally curious and continually working to improve existing processes
Contributes to analytical review of floor plan changes
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, retail, analytics or related field
At least three years of work experience in retail floor planning or related field (store operations, retail merchandising, category management, etc.)
At least one year of experience with a floor- and/or space-planning tool such as JDA/Blue Yonder, RELEX, Apollo, Spaceman, 3DVR, or another related, commonly used technology
Has strong project management and time management capabilities
AutoCAD / drafting experience
Power BI / analytics software experience
Has familiarity with syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, etc.) and digital category management tools
Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills
Contributes seamlessly to cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated environment
Willingness for travel (10-20%) to local markets/stores but is comfortable in a hybrid environment (in store, on-site and virtual)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of data entry
Exceptional verbal and written communication storytelling skills
Is proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, etc.)
