As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs that launch cutting‑edge world‑class products and meet customer needs. You will collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, and test engineers to design system‑level software solutions and gather performance requirements and interface information.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

2+ years of work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, Python, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

3+ years of experience with Database Management Software.

3+ years of experience with API design and usage.

1+ year of work experience with Git, Perforce, or Source Code Management System.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Leverages advanced software knowledge to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and utility programs.

Analyzes user needs, software requirements, and time and cost constraints to design efficient software solutions.

Designs and implements software modules for large‑scale products and systems.

Participates in and leads design, coding, unit testing, debugging, and integration efforts to ensure projects meet specifications and schedules.

Performs complex code reviews and regression tests; triages and resolves issues to maintain code quality.

Collaborates with hardware, systems, and test engineers to ensure integrated solutions work effectively.

Writes detailed technical documentation for complex software projects.

Level of Responsibility

Works independently with minimal supervision.

Provides supervision and guidance to other team members.

Decision‑making is significant and affects work beyond the immediate team.

Requires strong verbal and written communication skills; may negotiate, influence, and exercise tact.

Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions and is consulted by senior leadership.

Tasks often involve multiple steps; extensive planning, problem‑solving, and prioritization are required to complete them effectively.

Pay Range and Other Compensation & Benefits $134,800.00 – $202,200.00. In addition, Qualcomm offers a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants.
