The Opportunity As a software sustainment engineer, you play a pivotal role in an application’s functional life. From troubleshooting to fixing bugs, you use your expertise to ensure that things run smoothly. We’re looking for a software sustainment engineer like you to apply your knowledge to our government clients’ challenges and their legacy enterprise systems. Here, you’ll impact technology that helps support national security.
At Booz Allen, you’ll have an operational impact from day one. You’ll help your team maintain applications and systems. You and your team will use programming and scripting languages to continuously enhance and maintain the application, troubleshoot operational issues, and upgrade the system to meet security requirements.
Most importantly, you’ll advise our government clients on the best ways to improve and modernize existing systems. Work with us to secure crucial systems while watching them grow and modernize.

You Have
5+ years of experience maintaining and making minor changes to existing applications or keeping those systems working in a sustainment mode within an Agile environment
Experience with legacy enterprise systems and working in a microservices or distributed application environment
Experience with Java and React or Node.js
Experience with workflows, web parts, site maintenance, APIs, and cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services
Experience creating and testing modules and components for compliance with design specifications
Experience developing and testing interfaces between software products and products of other vendors
Knowledge of source control systems, such as GIT, DevOps, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
Ability to lead design and code reviews and address findings within a collaborative, cross‑functional team
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems field and 5+ years of experience in software engineering, or 9+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree
Nice If You Have
Experience with Space Systems or Satellite Communications
Experience with Python, C#, C/C++, .NET, JavaScript, Angular, PHP, Bash, Visual Basic, Groovy, or Lua
Knowledge of shell scripting and automation
Knowledge of relational and hierarchical data structures and functional programming
TS/SCI clearance
Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
Compensation Salary range: $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
