Senior Director of Advocacy Engagement

to join our dynamic Advocacy Team. If you have experience designing and leading multi-state advocacy campaigns, building grassroots networks, managing Political Action Committee (PAC) fundraising, and influencing policy at the state or federal level, we want to hear from you!

As the

Senior Director of Advocacy Engagement

at

The League , you will be a key leader responsible for designing and executing strategies to strengthen and grow the organization’s advocacy network across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia. This role drives member and grassroots engagement, PAC participation, and legislative relationship-building efforts to ensure credit unions’ voices are effectively represented at the state and federal levels.

You’ll develop and oversee compelling advocacy campaigns, manage communication strategies to mobilize supporters, and build programs that empower members to influence policy outcomes. In addition, you will lead

grassroots engagement initiatives, activating employees, volunteers, and members around key legislative and regulatory issues, creating campaigns, training tools, and tracking metrics to continuously improve participation.

Collaborating with the Communications Team, you’ll craft messaging, represent

The League

at events and conferences, and serve as a visible leader shaping advocacy strategy, aligning PAC and grassroots priorities, and fostering a culture of engagement across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).

5‑7 years of experience in government affairs, political fundraising, grassroots mobilization, or advocacy program management—ideally within a trade association, financial services organization, or campaign setting.

Hands‑on experience leading multi‑state or regional advocacy or engagement initiatives.

Proven success in PAC fundraising, donor engagement, and maintaining compliance with state and federal election laws.

Work Schedule As the

Senior Director of Advocacy Engagement , you will travel up to 50% across The League’s footprint—including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Washington, D.C., state capitals, and member credit unions. Overnight travel is likely, and a valid driver’s license is required.
