SMX is looking for a highly motivated
Software Engineer (Mid-Senior)
with demonstrated experience to perform Software/Systems Engineering for the sustainment phases of a project relative to mission planning software supporting aircraft and weapons systems.
In this role, you will join a team of highly driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting program management, technical, or business case analysis across the NAVAIR community.
This is an onsite role providing support for our client at Patuxent River NAS, MD.
The Software Engineer will:
Analyze computer science, engineering, and other software engineering problems to develop and implement solutions to complex application problems, system design and development issues, or network concerns
Perform software management and integration functions, improve existing computer systems, and review computer system capabilities, software architecture, throughput, real-time processing limitations, Cybersecurity, and software safety
Analyze commercially available, open-source, government furnished and contractor furnished software
Required Skills and Experience:
Clearance Required: Secret
BS or BA degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering from a college program with ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.) certification.
At least five (5) years of software engineering experience to include:
Performing software requirements analysis
Software design
Software coding
Software integration and testing
Demonstrated experience in all phases of the software engineering lifecycle
Experience with modern software practices (DevOps) and configuration management tools
Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems, evaluate trade space opportunities, and develop solutions
Proficient in C++ or similar object-oriented programming language
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with the Tomahawk Weapons System
Experience in the DoD acquisition process
