Position Summary Are you passionate about solving complex problems? Join our dynamic team as a Systems Engineer and become a vital contributor to support NASA as an Oceaneering teammate on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. You will play a crucial role in the Systems Engineering and Technical Integration section within the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract.

International travel may be required. Straight‑time overtime, a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or one day of telework per week may be available.

Duties And Responsibilities

Develop and model concepts.

Work on requirements definition, flow‑down, assessment and verification.

Develop concept of operations, software verification and validation (V&V) plans.

Identify risks, develop risk statements and responses with team members.

Review documentation for major milestone reviews such as TRR, CDR, SAR, etc.

Review hazard analyses.

Attend project meetings and provide meeting summaries to technical leads.

Conduct trade studies and participate in stakeholder reviews.

Work in a team environment.

Report status, issues and requests for support to the team lead.

Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer, other NASA support contractors and the HLS commercial partners.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications – Required

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.

Experience in technology demonstrations and early program concept development and formulation.

Experience with requirements development, design trades, development of concept of operations, risk analysis, and system analysis of space hardware.

Experience creating concepts for operations of single systems as well as multi‑space‑vehicle operations.

Experience with technology roadmap development and creating technology integration plans.

Experience collecting and understanding stakeholder needs.

Experience with interface definition for complex subsystems and between multiple systems or mission elements.

Experience with test and verification of spaceflight hardware.

Knowledge of systems engineering principles and associated documentation.

Qualifications – Preferred

Electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering degree.

Experience working with multiple NASA organizations and international partners.

Experience working across NASA centers.

Experience with hardware or software development projects.

Familiarity with human space exploration systems (e.g., Orion, Commercial Crew, ISS, EMU/xEMU).

Basic knowledge of commonly‑used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.

INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification.

Familiarity with system architecture tools such as DoDAF, TODAF, etc.

Proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency – required.

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
