Summary The Manager of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Facilities (EHS & Facilities) is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating health and safety programs that apply engineering principles and technology to identify, analyze, and control conditions contributing to occupational hazards and diseases.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Develops, maintains, and updates compliance plan and updates annually.

Ensures adherence to all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and company policies.

Tracks and documents completion of items on compliance plan.

Designs and implements programs to monitor and prevent chemical, physical, and biological hazards within the facility.

Collects and analyzes data related to occupational and environmental health issues, including chemical exposure, radiation, noise, temperature, air quality, and ergonomics.

Conducts field and safety assessments, including hazardous waste evaluations.

Develops or provides input to hazardous material communications, including maintaining material data sheets.

Maintains monitoring instrumentation and equipment.

Develop, deliver and maintain training resources for EH&S measures.

Implements and recommend control measures to mitigate exposure to hazardous materials or unsafe conditions.

Supervises personnel conducting field and laboratory inspections to verify regulatory compliance.

Provides technical guidance to management, employees, government agencies, and community organizations on health and safety issues, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Monitors company health and safety standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Develops and manages systems to track and analyze workplace injuries and incidents.

Stays current on emerging industry practices and regulatory changes.

Designs and delivers health and safety training programs for employees.

Maintain RCA and CAR logs for safety, environmental and hazardous material changes.

Develop and maintain facilities and machine preventative maintenance schedules.

Maintain services records for facilities and machine maintenance.

Maintain RCA and CAR for facilities and machine maintenance.

Basic understanding of MEP construction standards.

Basic understanding of CAD files and construction project management.

Qualification Requirements Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.

10+ years of progressive EHS and facilities management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.

Strong command of both English and Spanish, including written and spoken communication, preferred.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

Capable of addressing inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.

Comfortable presenting information and responding to questions from managers, employees, and the public.

Math Skills

Proficient in applying mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry.

Able to use fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions for practical applications.

Reasoning Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Able to interpret complex technical data and instructions, and manage both abstract and concrete variables.

Computer and Office Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/Inventory systems.

Competent with Windows operating systems and internet browsers.

Skilled in typing, 10-key entry, blueprint reading, CAD drawings, and basic hydraulics/pneumatics.

Preferred Certifications

OSHA 30-Hour General Industry or Construction Certification

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) – Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)

Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) – American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH)

OSHA HAZWOPER (40-Hour) – Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response

Frequent Activities: Standing, sitting, walking, typing, handling objects, talking/hearing, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs.

Occasional activities: Climbing/balancing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, Lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100+lbs.

Frequent: Close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, computer work, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure: Moderate-to-loud noise.

Occasional exposure: Mechanical parts, fumes, high places, outdoor weather, electrical shock, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, very quiet-to-quiet noise or very loud noise levels.

Compensation and Benefits Offered Actual base salary offered to the selected applicant will be based on their work location, qualifications, job related skills, relevant education, and training experience.

Base salary range Minimum $120,000 – Maximum $145,000.
