Critical Environment - Operating Engineer Join JLL as a Critical Environment - Operating Engineer responsible for delivering best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure (UPS, MV electrical systems, generators, cooling systems, etc.). This role operates on the 2nd shift, ensuring 100% uptime of building systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems, including fire/life safety, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and hot water systems.

Monitor, adjust, and maintain refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers; pumps; valves; piping; and filters.

Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.

Analyze various system operations, diagnose problems, and implement corrective actions.

Comply with policies for safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials.

Maintain a clean and safe workplace.

Learn and understand the data center site to manage incidents and events that risk critical systems.

Manage work orders through CMMS, vendor management, and customer‑facing tickets.

Understand and adhere to emergency escalation procedures.

Perform additional job duties as required.

Physical Work Abilities & Requirements

Frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extending overhead.

Walking large, campus‑like settings.

Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.

Climbing stairs and navigating rooftops to access equipment.

Using ladders up to 30 ft and working from heights.

Climb a ladder with a 300‑lb weight limit.

Work different schedules, holidays, and respond to site emergencies.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience working in a data center/critical facility.

Experience with building systems, including UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgears.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Working knowledge of computer applications including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite, and CMMS.

Preferred Qualifications

Corrigo experience.

Universal EPA 608 certification.

Training in NFPA 70E.

Location Chesterfield, MO

Salary $93,000.00 – $125,000.00
