Our client, a leading organization in the technology and communications sector, is seeking a Network Engineer IV to join their team. As a Network Engineer IV, you will be part of the Technology Services department supporting network infrastructure and operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills, proactive communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title Network Engineer IV
Location Owings Mills, MD
Pay Range $63-65/hr
What's the Job?
Collaborate with network infrastructure teams to evaluate and recommend proactive management tools for maintaining a stable network environment.
Configure and maintain management tools for real‑time and historical visibility into network faults and performance metrics.
Update and manage software versions, working with vendors to resolve deficiencies and ensure optimal tool performance.
Leverage software development skills to create, modify, and maintain custom scripts and programs that enhance automation and infrastructure visibility.
Research and resolve management tool issues promptly to ensure continuous network operations and proactive visibility into infrastructure health.
What's Needed?
Proficiency with UNIX/RedHat Linux systems administration.
Strong understanding of SNMP MIBs, Syslog, NetFlow, TACACS, SNMP Traps, and alerting mechanisms.
Experience with databases such as MySQL, Postgres, and Vertica.
Proficiency in Cisco Products.
Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently once familiar with the environment.
