Shelter Support Staff - Harborview Hall

Schedule Tuesday-Saturday, 6:00am-2:30pm
Pay $25.05 per hour
Status Regular Full‑Time/Non‑Exempt
Duties & Responsibilities
Respond to crisis and inquiry telephone calls by providing support, information, and referrals to appropriate social services.
Assist residents to ensure a safe environment and compliance with program rules.
Conduct periodic walking inspections of all areas of the facility to identify hazards and initiate corrective action.
Respond to emergency situations, making independent decisions within policy guidelines.
Provide crisis intervention and institute security procedures for critical or threatening situations, and notify police, fire, emergency medical and supervisory authorities in a timely manner.
Conduct client intakes and departure processes as required by department policy.
Provide orientation, support, and supervision to new staff and volunteers.
Assist with the orientation and training of new staff, volunteers, and other personnel.
Work cooperatively with other Salvation Army staff.
Represent Salvation Army programs to community agencies and representatives in a respectful and positive manner.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Maintain case records and required forms and reports in prescribed systems.
Comply with Salvation Army procedural requirements, including the Policy & Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook.
Prepare water, coffee, snacks for guests as needed.
Perform general cleaning of facility bathrooms, sleeping area, and common areas, including mopping, sweeping, and wiping down as assigned.
Work with janitorial staff as assigned.
Perform other duties as requested.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 6 months experience in public contact/customer service.
Experience in social service shelter / residential preferred.
WA Driver’s License preferred.
