Overview
We are seeking a skilled
Archaeologist
to schedule, manage, and conduct Phase I-III fieldwork, lab analysis, and research projects. The candidate will assist Senior Archaeologists in the field and contribute to archaeological reporting and site documentation. This role focuses primarily on projects in Texas and nearby regions.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct archaeological fieldwork and identify artifacts to determine the presence of archaeological sites
Collect and analyze data during archaeological investigations
Document research methodologies, findings, and maintain accurate records
Prepare and review archaeological reports and site forms
Assist in evaluating project alternatives and resolving adverse effects on archaeological resources
Prepare artifacts and project documentation for curation
Collaborate with field, lab, and office staff to ensure projects meet professional and company standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
Master's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
Must meet the
Secretary of the Interior's Qualification Standards for Archaeologists
Minimum 4 years of archaeological experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
Regional experience in historic and/or prehistoric archaeology
Demonstrated expertise in Phase I-III fieldwork and project supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Valid driver's license
Must provide a writing sample (thesis, dissertation, or archaeological report)
Preferred Qualifications
Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA)
Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro,
Field Maps , Google Earth, and other GIS software
Experience obtaining a
Texas Antiquities Permit
Significant laboratory and artifact curation experience
