Calibration Technician
to join our team.
Job Functions
Provides electrical and mechanical service calibrations and adjustments of balances, scales, instruments, and equipment at customer’s facilities and in the metrology laboratory (Concord, CA).
Provides troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of product/equipment/instruments; identifies, analyzes, repairs failures, orders and replaces parts as needed.
Provides in‑house telephone technical assistance for diagnostic troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and validation services of balances, scales and other instruments/equipment to dealers and customers. Ensures customer service exceeds expectations.
Organizes and schedules travel to customer locations; communicates and coordinates with supervisors and regional sales directors. Ensures customer satisfaction goals are met.
Performs in‑house repairs, calibrations and warranty service of balances, scales and other instrumentation.
Performs pickup and delivery of customer balances, scales, instruments, equipment, and artifacts throughout the service area.
Ensures adequate stock of service parts for new equipment; maintains adequate levels of tools, spare parts, and additional materials required for quality customer service.
Assists with new product evaluations; provides feedback to the development process.
Assists other departments with technical information, troubleshooting techniques, telephone support, and setting up equipment.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.
Five (5) or more years of experience in weighing equipment, metrology, and calibration field.
Two (2) or more years of experience with instrument software.
One (1) or more years of travel experience.
One (1) or more years of experience with retail scales and NIST Handbook 44 requirements.
Valid Driver’s License.
