The Virginia Catering Company is committed to delivering outstanding catering services for a wide range of events. As a Catering Services Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our catering operations at the University of Virginia and the surrounding community. Your responsibilities will include setting up events, transporting equipment and food, serving guests, and maintaining a clean environment after the events.
This position offers flexible scheduling with available hours exceeding 30 per week. Your adaptability is essential as event times may vary.
Pay Rate:
$18-20 depending on qualifications. Key Responsibilities: Serve food and beverages to guests according to their orders and banquet menus. Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items and offerings. Ensure cleanliness and organization of food service areas during events. Replenish food and beverage supplies as needed. Adhere to all alcohol service policies and check guest identification as required. Provide exceptional customer service, anticipating and addressing guests' needs. Break down and clean all food service areas, workstations, and equipment after events. Maintain a positive demeanor towards guests and coworkers. Follow safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation standards. Protect company assets by ensuring security protocols are followed. This role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required. Qualifications: Previous customer service experience preferred. Catering experience is a plus. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Compliance with required dress code. Availability for event-based hours. Completion of Food Handling and Alcohol Service training when required.
