Purpose of the Role.

You will play an integral role in validating installed mechanical and piping quantities on major Gulf Coast industrial projects—including LNG facilities, petrochemical plants, and refineries. Your work ensures the accuracy of reporting, progress measurement, and billing, directly influencing project cost control and earned value performance. Approximately 70% of your time will be spent in the field, where your technical insight and practical understanding of heavy industrial construction will drive accuracy and accountability.

Core Responsibilities

Validate installed mechanical and piping quantities against contractor progress claims and field installation reports.

Maintain detailed logs of installed systems—including pipe spools, supports, equipment, and prefabricated modules—for verification of project reporting and billing.

Identify, document, and communicate variances between reported and actual field quantities.

Review isometric drawings, P&IDs, and material take-offs to ensure consistency with field progress and contractor submissions.

Collaborate closely with construction management, project controls, and field supervision teams to reconcile quantities and maintain accurate earned value data.

Support field teams by ensuring all mechanical and piping measurement practices comply with Worley procedures and customer requirements.

Provide accurate, data‑driven reporting to project leadership, enabling confident cost and schedule forecasting.

Promote and model a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with Worley and site‑specific safety expectations.

Mentor less experienced team members, sharing expertise in field verification techniques and mechanical/piping installation processes.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

A degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Typically, 7+ years of relevant experience in mechanical and piping quantity surveying or construction management on large industrial projects.

Proven field experience within LNG, petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial environments.

Strong knowledge of mechanical and piping systems, including fabrication, installation, hydrotesting, and pre‑commissioning.

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and construction drawings, ensuring alignment with installed conditions.

Familiarity with progress tracking systems, field data collection tools, and earned value reporting.

Analytical and detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and accountability.

Excellent communication skills, capable of building strong relationships across disciplines and influencing decisions through data‑driven insight.
