We are looking for an organised, motivated and enthusiastic Community Research Assistant to take a key role in the BiBBS ACHIEVE study within the Born in Bradford (BiB) programme (www.borninbradford.nhs.uk).
We welcome applications for a minimum of 15 hours per week up to full time (37.5 hours)
BiBBS ACHIEVE builds upon the Born in Bradford's Better Start (BiBBS) birth cohort, which has followed over 5000 families living Bradford, since 2016. This new phase aims to enhance our understanding of children's health, wellbeing, and educational development in middle childhood, capturing how recent systemic shocks, such as the pandemic and cost-of-living crisis, have shaped their lives, and how existing early interventions can be adapted to reduce inequalities. This is an exciting, once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of this unique research programme which really makes a difference to the health and lives of children and families.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work as part of the wider BiBBS team to collect data in schools and other community settings. They will work with children and their families. The data collected will contribute towards the understanding and improving the health and wellbeing of families in Bradford, nationally and internationally. The findings from studies will be used to influence policy makers, health professionals and educationalists and help them improve service provision.
You will have experience of working with children and families in a community/health setting and. You will be organised and able to work under your own initiative to meet tight deadlines as well as having an approachable and friendly manner.

Skills Excellent administrative skills, including familiarity with email and word processing Excellent oral and written communication skills Able to work without daily supervision Interpersonal skills to include: diplomacy and sensitivity, negotiating and influencing, including the ability to say "no" Excellent organisational skills Ability to interpret written procedures and record information accurately Ability to summarise complex information Excellent attention to detail Demonstrates the ability to work well with others in a team, including senior staff Mature approach to work with a friendly manner Flexible approach to work and working practices Able to speak a South Asian or Central/Eastern European language Knowledge of child protection
Knowledge Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
Qualifications NNEB/HND/BTEC,GNVQ or equivalent level of education Or other highly relevant experience Driving License
