ASSISTANT WRESTLING COACH (2 POSITIONS) – HIGH SCHOOL
Position within the South Kitsap School District at South Kitsap High School, home of the Wolves. This role supports the athletic department in developing student‑athletes, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and ensuring compliance with district and WIAA regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Coaching all phases of the wrestling sport.
Assisting in the administration of contests.
Attending all practices as designated by the head coach.
Supervising locker room operations for home and away games.
Supporting home and away contests, including Saturday commitments.
Managing equipment inventory pre‑season and post‑season.
Driving team vans as needed.
Enforcing strong team discipline and sportsmanship.
Following all coaching duties outlined in the South Kitsap High School, Narrows League, and WIAA handbooks.
Communicating effectively with athletes, parents, trainers, the athletic director, and administration.
Reporting to the South Kitsap High School Athletic Director and School Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS Basic Requirements
Capable of coaching all phases of the sport.
Assist in administration of contests.
Attend all practices as designated by the head coach.
Supervise locker room activities.
Available for home and away contests and Saturday commitments.
Maintain equipment inventories.
Available to drive team vans.
Strong team discipline and sportsmanship.
Follow coaching duties in district, league, and WIAA handbooks.
Effective communication with athletes, parents, trainers, director, and administration.
Report to Athletic Director and Principal.
Preferred Qualifications
Certificated employee of the South Kitsap School District.
Previous participation in the sport.
Previous coaching experience.
Requirements
Valid and up‑to‑date First Aid and CPR certification prior to beginning coaching experience.
Meet coaching certification standards set by the South Kitsap School District and the WIAA.
Valid Washington driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Fingerprints prior to beginning coaching experience at employee expense (Washington State Patrol and FBI Background Clearance).
SEASON AND SALARY Winter 2025. Salary as per negotiated agreement and verified coaching experience at another school district.
