The Post-Award Grants Manager is responsible for post-award management of grants and sponsored projects in the Office of Research, Grants and Sponsored Programs (ORGSP) and for handling administrative computing system functions for the ORGSP.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in accounting, financial analysis or grants administration
Ability to interpret and apply complex sponsor and agency regulations
Demonstrated experience with business and/or grant software
Strong attention to detail
Job Duties
Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large.
Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students.
Participate on university committees.
Interpret and apply federal, state, sponsor and University policies and regulations to management of awards and apply sound fiscal policies in the management of grants.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of the current Grants Database and administrative computing systems.
Review award notices and contract terms and conditions, as well as budgets to ensure awards are properly established in the current Grants Database and administrative computing system and prepare award set up form.
Ensure the integrity of award data in the current Grants Database and administrative computing system, including the establishment of accounts in the financial accounting system, re-budgeting of funds, and making changes to the award or expenditures.
Monitor accounts for financial compliance, that expenditures are allowable and within budget, that exception reports and other award management reports are run as scheduled.
Work closely with the Executive Director of ORSGP to see that appropriate follow‑up action is taken with faculty and their staff to coordinate and resolve grant regulation issues.
Assist with monitoring cost share, assist in gathering cost share and other information required for invoicing as needed.
Responsible for invoicing, cash collections and other reporting requirements with other ORGSP staff as needed.
Maintain a current working knowledge of sponsor and federal regulations, policies and procedures by attending training, online training opportunities and through on‑the‑job experience as coordinated with the Executive Director of ORSGP.
Write, modify, and run Grants Database queries and other reports.
Ensure that exception and reconciliation reports are run and reviewed, monitor status of corrections and deadlines.
Assure that the university is in compliance with all the reporting requirements of the grantor.
Monitor the compliance of fund disbursement with grant guidelines and oversee annual reports and other communications with the grantor.
Complete required institutional and program accreditation reports and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of the University.
Initiate in‑person meetings with recipients at the beginning of the post‑award process to ensure understanding of award requirements, create a timeline of drawdowns, and emphasize report due dates across the life of an award.
Conduct scheduled, department‑initiated audits to ensure accuracy of project files and financials.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
