Store Manager Trainee

Location: Waco, TX (1417 S. Valley Mills Dr, Waco, Texas 76711‑1682)
About the Role We’re looking for a motivated leader who can inspire teams to deliver exceptional customer service. As a Store Manager in Training, you’ll engage in on‑job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of your assigned store, maintaining high standards for merchandising, placement, and store signage.
Responsibilities
Recruit and hire store associates.
Foster the growth and development of associates through training on operations and merchandising while coaching and correcting when appropriate.
Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while enforcing company policies and procedures.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated from corporate headquarters.
Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
Protect company assets.
Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 3 years prior retail management experience (hardlines or variety merchandise). BIG BOX experience a plus.
Strong productivity management in freight processing.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment.
Must be able to lift between 30–50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, or a reasonable accommodation.
