Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including transportation, preparation, and burial or cremation arrangements.
Provide bereavement support to families, offering guidance and assistance throughout the planning process.
Prepare deceased individuals for viewing by performing necessary sanitation and cosmetic procedures.
Conduct meetings with families to discuss their wishes and preferences for funeral services.
Manage logistics for events, including scheduling services and coordinating with vendors.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each service provided.
Ensure compliance with all legal regulations and ethical standards in the funeral industry.
Assist in the sale of funeral merchandise such as caskets, urns, and memorial products.
Handle heavy lifting as required during the preparation and transportation of remains.
Skills
Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with grieving families.
Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to provide appropriate care for deceased individuals.
Experience in funeral directing, including familiarity with industry practices and regulations.
Proficient in event planning to ensure seamless execution of funeral services.
Understanding of sanitation procedures to maintain a respectful environment for families and staff.
Basic cosmetology skills for preparing individuals for viewings.
Ability to perform dissection when necessary as part of the preparation process.
