About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to join their team. The CDO will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of all resource development strategies and activities, including major gifts, planned giving, grants, annual giving, special events, communications, and stewardship. This role involves working closely with the board, professional staff, and program staff to lead significant fundraising efforts and secure philanthropic support for various campaigns and initiatives. The successful candidate will set priorities for the fundraising functions, serve as the lead in donor prospecting and solicitation, and develop and manage an annual development plan and budget.
Applicants for the CDO position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' of proven team leading and fundraising success in comparable institutions. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to engage donors, and a talent for telling the organization's story in a compelling manner.
