About the Role The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Government Relations to lead the strategic advancement of its interests across local, state, and federal levels. The successful candidate will be the chief architect of the company's government relations strategy, responsible for forging influential partnerships, shaping public policy, and elevating the company's voice on critical issues. This key leadership role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of legislative, regulatory, and political processes, and a proven ability to advocate effectively for institutional interests in education, research, healthcare, and economic development. The Executive Director will also be tasked with developing and implementing strategic legislative and executive branch agendas, monitoring and analyzing relevant developments, and ensuring a unified and strategic approach to government affairs across the company.
Applicants for the Executive Director position should have a background in government relations, public policy, or legislative affairs, preferably within a complex sector such as higher education or healthcare. The role demands exceptional communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for an advanced degree in a related field. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of influencing public policy, building bipartisan support, and managing a team. Established relationships with government officials at various levels are highly desirable.
