SUMMARY:

The Production Scheduler coordinates and oversees the scheduling of all fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly operations to ensure projects are completed on time and within capacity. This role works closely with production, engineering, and purchasing teams to develop and maintain efficient schedules, balanced workloads, and optimized use of equipment and materials. Attention to detail, strong organizational & communication skills, and are essential for success in this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Maximizes the use of ERP system for planning, scheduling, reporting, and forecasting. Establish, measure, monitor and adjust capacity levels in ERP to ensure accurate production capacities. Sets up and maintains work centers and work groups in ERP system. Performs estimated vs. actual production time analysis on all first product runs and makes scheduling adjustments as necessary. Determines available capacity before planned orders are released. Collaborates with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing to establish the most effective schedule to meet customer delivery dates. Coordinates availability of equipment and staff as needed to alleviate bottlenecks in order to meet delivery dates. Analyze and report on production hours through work centers. Assists Supervisors with monitoring each operation to ensure production begins on established start dates. Informs appropriate staff of necessary schedule changes or delays. Develops and prepares production reports, including past due, throughput, capacity, and other reports as requested. Coordinates with purchasing, engineering, production, and shipping supervisors to ensure on-time shipment of customer orders. Suggests and coordinates improvements in the ERP System. Trains impacted users and if needed, coordinates training and resources for all team members. May need to attend meetings that are outside of normal work hours. Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must be collaborative team player with ability to work across functions effectively fostering relationships and be a catalyst for change. Technical skills as they pertain to this job including but not limited to the use of an ERP system and Microsoft Office products. Thorough knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) principles, systems, and tools. Knowledge of Capacity requirements planning (CRP). Strong analytical skills, ability to combine information from multiple sources to make strategic decisions. Knowledge of fabrication process, systems, and tools. Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms, with vendors, customers, co-workers, and supervisors. Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

BA or BS degree in Business Administration or related field or; +3 years of experience in planning/scheduling preferably in a high mix/low volume manufacturing setting Metal Fabrication preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Work performed primarily in an office environment. Occasionally work may be performed in a shop environment where employee is exposed to dust, odors, fumes, heat, loud noise and other elements.

Salary Description

$29.49 - $36.86 per hour
