Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients to and from healthcare facilities, insuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. Non-clinical patient transporter plays a vital role in enhancing the patient's experience by providing a high level of care and support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Safely and efficiently transport patients from front door of pickup address to front door of various diagnostic or treatment areas. Ensure the comfort and well-being of patients during transportation, addressing their concerns and providing reassurance when needed. Assist patients with mobility challenges, such as those using wheelchairs, or other mobility aids. Maintain clear and professional communication with patients, their families, and healthcare staff to coordinate patient transportation needs effectively. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures while transporting patients, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Perform routine checks and maintenance on patient transportation equipment to ensure it is in safe and working condition. Maintain accurate records of patient transports, including patient information, destination, and time of transportation. Be prepared to respond to emergency situations and follow established protocols to ensure patient safety during crises. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff to ensure the smooth flow of patient transport services. Uphold a professional demeanor and always maintain patient confidentiality. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Compassion and a strong commitment to patient care. Physical move patients when necessary. Basic knowledge of healthcare safety and infection control procedures. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions. Clean Driving Record Must be willing to obtain:
Basic first aid and CPR certification. Passenger Assist Wheelchair secure
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The role involves a combination of standing, walking, and physically assisting patients. May require work in a hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility with exposure to a healthcare environment
