To be considered for an interview, please make sure your application is full in line with the job specs as found below. *This role is for Pediatric Autism The Occupational Therapist I OP (Entry/Competent) is responsible for the assessment and treatment of the patient’s physical, visual and cognitive skills to restore and/or maintain maximum functional performance for home, work, and school environments.
- Evaluates and develops plan of care according to American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) guidelines.
- Administers occupational therapy treatments appropriate to diagnosis and to AOTA guidelines.
- Documents and charges for patient care services in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements.
- Completes progress notes/recertification to demonstrate the need for continues skilled services as outlined by federal, state, and insurance regulations.
- Completes discharge planning according to AOTA guidelines by consulting with physicians, PT, SLP and with the patient/family.
- Completes peer to peer review and required forms for obtaining authorization for services.
- Meets productivity/KPI targets.
- Completion of yearly mandatory education for employment and VA licensure.
Competent Staff: - Coordinates external resources and support for patients and families.
- Participates in at least one community service activity that is Centra sponsored or rehab profession.
- Serves as a Clinical Instructor for an occupational therapy student level 1, or an intern (greater than 30 hours) applying to OT school.
- Provides one in-service annually to staff.
- Completes two of the following: - Participates as a member of the AOTA with at least 50% attendance.
- Participates in efforts to impact/affect legislation in professional area.
- Performs clinical activity or special project as pre-approved by manager.
- Supervises Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistants, rehab assistants, and other support staff.
Required Education: Graduate of an accredited OT program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate Program) Preferred Education: None Required Experience: None Preferred Experience: 1 year experience in a outpatient setting.
Required Certifications and Licensures: Current Virginia OT licensure.
