Overview Of The Role: The Product Strategy team is responsible for helping the executive leadership team, Chief Product Officer, and product leadership teams with plans for the next wave of product bets to drive organic and inorganic growth. We are looking for a Director of Product Strategy to join our team to help build winning strategies with product leadership for the entire Salesforce portfolio. If you are a strategic thinker who isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done, we want to hear from you. Hybrid/Remote status: This role is hybrid for individuals within 50 miles of the posted hub locations (Indianapolis, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle) requiring 3 days in the office. Define and execute product strategies that address key customer challenges and drive disproportionate business value. Inform product development roadmaps by partnering with product leaders across the portfolio to deliver against strategic plans. Create financial models to forecast revenue, define key performance metrics, and build business cases for new opportunities. Support Technology & Product Leaders in presenting insights and summaries of strategic plans to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors. Analyze product performance from a portfolio-level perspective and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize resource allocation and investment across the portfolio. Inform strategic trade-offs and guide senior leadership on resource allocation to maximize long-term growth and profitability. Serve as a key member of the M&A process, collaborating with Corporate Development, Product, Technology, and Go-to-Market teams; articulate the product strategy, define the deal thesis, and model potential synergies. Drive alignment across Technology and Product leadership during evaluation of potential acquisition targets. Act as an industry and market expert, staying current on trends and providing insights into opportunities in existing and new markets. Conduct in-depth research on competitive products and business strategies to identify unique value propositions and sustainable market advantages. Coach and mentor Product Managers and Product Strategy team members on strategic thinking and problem-solving; foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and collaboration. Required Skills/Qualifications
10+ years experience in strategy consulting or product management/marketing/strategy at a high tech company, ideally at a large enterprise software company. Ability and desire to dig into new technologies and develop disruptive strategies that drive growth and differentiation. Strong analytical and rapid-learning capabilities; able to apply lessons from different industries and products. Exceptional communication and influencing skills; ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across Salesforce to drive results. Experience in M&A strategy, including synergy modeling and deal thesis articulation, is a plus. Experience with market research (qualitative and quantitative) and leading projects. Hands-on financial analysis and modeling; proficient with Excel and related tools. MBA is a plus (but not required).
