Location: Austin, TX – Onsite Employment Type: Full-time Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr About the Role: Vantage Consulting is representing a leading RF electronics manufacturer that designs and builds cutting-edge solutions for aerospace, defense, quantum computing, and scientific applications. You’ll be joining a passionate, innovative team working on mission-critical technologies that push the boundaries of what’s possible. The Opportunity: As a Senior RF/Electronics Design Engineer, you’ll help develop the next generation of circuit designs powering some of the most advanced systems in the world. You’ll work alongside experts in the RF and microwave industry based in Austin, Texas. Responsibilities
Design low phase noise oscillators, frequency sources, synthesizers, and RF/microwave building blocks (amplifiers, detectors, mixers, couplers, filters, up/down converters), integrated microwave assemblies, and subsystems. Develop RF/microwave and electronic solutions for aerospace, space, defense, test & measurement, scientific, and quantum computing applications. Collaborate with customers to translate requirements into product specifications and performance goals. Work cross-functionally with project managers, electrical, RF, mechanical, software, test, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. Perform testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Develop and document engineering processes and test procedures. Stay current with RF/microwave and electronics industry trends and technologies. Manage projects to meet technical, schedule, and cost targets. Education
BSEE (or equivalent) required; MSEE preferred. Experience
10+ years of RF/Electronics design and development experience with the ability to work independently. Strong background in schematic design and circuit development. Hands-on experience with low phase noise oscillators, frequency sources, and synthesizers. Proven track record with RF/microwave components, subsystems, and systems. Familiarity with RF/electronics testing, debugging, and qualification processes. Experience designing for military, aerospace, or space-grade hardware. Demonstrated success leading or mentoring small engineering teams. Knowledge of EMI/EMC analysis, IPC standards, PCB layout, and requirements management. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Atlassian Jira/Confluence. Skills & Attributes
Expertise in RF/microwave and oscillator design, development, testing, and debug. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized. Strong prioritization and problem-solving abilities under pressure. Collaborative team player with high ethical standards.
