Marketing and Client Relations Manager
to lead communications, events, and partner engagement during a maternity leave coverage period (
November 15, 2025 – April 15, 2026
). This temporary, full-time 1099 role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact mission and may evolve into a permanent position as our organization grows.

For over 14 years, we have engaged stakeholders across the corporate, postsecondary, nonprofit, government, and K-12 sectors to enable optimal outcomes for historically underrepresented and underserved individuals. We support a community of practice to produce research papers, national and regional convenings, vodcasts and webinars to study and address complex problems and offer best-practice solutions designed to improve the STEM talent pipeline. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This role supports the organization’s mission through strategic marketing execution, seamless event management, operation coordination, and client relationship support. The Marketing & Client Relations Manager serves as the central connector across internal teams, external vendors, and partner organizations, ensuring that all marketing, communications, and event activities continue on schedule and with consistency.
Project & Marketing Management
Lead marketing and special projects from planning to launch, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
Manage the team’s project management system (Monday.com), maintaining up-to-date timelines, tasks, and calendars and updates.
Coordinate and communicate across teams for campaigns, including projects, client deliverables, and communications.
Oversee branding, collateral, and resource development to ensure brand consistency.
Manage B2B and email marketing efforts, including event promotions and project announcements.
Plan and execute all aspects of in-person and virtual events, including conferences, workshops, and webinars.
Handle logistics such as venue selection, contracts, budgets, vendor and speaker coordination, AV requirements, food and beverage, and on-site management.
Create event materials, signage, and giveaways, and oversee event registration, tracking, and post-event reporting.
Liaison and support industry affinity groups, managing project and event/webinar communications and logistics as needed.
Digital & Web Management
Oversee and update websites as needed, including page management, content uploads, event listings, and plugin integrations.
Serve as the Social Media Manager, managing posts, digital campaigns and social media pages.
Communications & Collateral
Draft and manage newsletters, event promotions, and internal/external communications.
Design or oversee design of events and project digital and print collateral, including programs, banners, and event signage.
Administrative & Operations Support
Oversee administration of internal platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, Monday, Slack, Salesforce, Mailchimp, Zoom, HubSpot).
Track invoices, payments, and costs for vendors, events, and subscriptions.
Serve as a liaison between the marketing, operations, and sales teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
Manage contact lists and databases in HubSpot, Mailchimp and Salesforce.
Support sales enablement through updated contact lists, lead management, and digital campaign reporting.

Maintain consistency in branding, messaging, and event execution.
Keep marketing campaigns and email communications on schedule.
Ensure website updates and digital tools remain functional and current.
Support planned webinars and events through completion.
Communicate regularly with internal leadership for approvals and alignment.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required - a proven self-starter with seven or more years of experience or equivalent managing significant relationships, marketing responsibilities and events.
Skills
Must possess strong knowledge of business practices, project management and event management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in key tools and platforms
Industry knowledge in workforce development or education is helpful.
Environmental & Working Conditions
Normal internal working environment
Travel estimated at 15% due to occasional need to travel to event locations out of state. The individual selected for this position must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with ability to travel by subway, car or airplane.
Frequent internal contacts with employees throughout organization required.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range is: $6500 to $7500/Month Commensurate with Experience
This temporary position does not include company benefits other than those required by law.
