Director, Market Intelligence at Floor & Decor. The Director Market Intelligence will lead the development of an enterprise-wide view of the hard-surface flooring market landscape, turning external data and competitive insights into strategic guidance for growth, investment, and innovation. This leader will partner with Real Estate, Customer Analytics, Finance, and Marketing to identify market opportunities, monitor competitor dynamics, understand geospatial consumer behavior, and support data-driven decision-making at all levels of the business. Essential Job Functions

Build and refine market potential models (TAM/SAM/SOM) across customer segments, geographies, and product categories to guide strategic growth planning. Integrate third-party data sources (e.g., Placer, PRIZM, D&B, demographic/psychographic data) to quantify market potential, competitive intensity, and whitespace opportunities. Translate external market signals into actionable business insights that inform real estate strategy, customer acquisition, merchandising decisions, and financial planning. Develop frameworks and reporting to track competitor presence, expansion activity, and shifting wallet share across geographies, segments, and categories. Develop and maintain consumer personas that synthesize demographic, psychographic, behavioral, and attitudinal data to inform targeting, messaging, and assortment strategies. Partner with Customer Analytics to pair customer behavior and segmentation with external opportunity assessments. Support business case development for new store expansion, remodels, and format evolution using geospatial and market-level modeling. Design and deliver concise dashboards, visuals, and presentations to communicate market dynamics to senior leadership and business stakeholders. Collaborate cross-functionally with Real Estate, Finance, Marketing, and Merchandising to ensure market opportunity is embedded into enterprise decision-making. Work closely with Real Estate and FP&A to identify location-specific growth potential and cannibalization risks. Lead vendor management and evaluation of external data providers and platforms to ensure data quality and cost-effectiveness. Define, maintain, and enhance internal standards for how market opportunity is assessed and communicated across the business. Perform ad hoc and exploratory analyses to identify emerging trends, market disruptions, and high-potential micro-markets. Monitor and report on macroeconomic, seasonal, and category-specific trends to inform business planning and forecasting. Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, data science, economics, marketing, or related quantitative field. MBA or MS preferred. 10+ years in market intelligence, analytics, strategy, or category planning, preferably with experience in retail and/or home improvement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Expertise in building and managing market sizing models, including TAM/SAM/SOM frameworks. Extensive experience with external data sources such as PRIZM, Placer.ai, D&B, Census, Yelp, Nielsen, or other syndicated data providers. Proficiency in SQL and/or data shaping tools to extract and work with third-party data sets. Ability to synthesize competitive intelligence and consumer/market trends into strategic guidance for senior stakeholders. Familiarity with geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Carto) and mobility data. Strong understanding of retail footprint strategy, customer segmentation, and trade area definition. Excellent communication and storytelling skills; ability to translate complex market and location-based insights into clear executive-level insights. Proven experience influencing senior leadership and cross-functional partners. Highly analytical with the ability to independently drive projects from exploration through insight delivery. Ability to balance hands-on data work with leadership responsibilities. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and critical thinking skills. Experience managing vendors, research partnerships, or external data providers is a plus. Working Conditions

Limited travel required including air and car travel. Noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate. Physical/Sensory Requirements
