Director of Finance The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial health and strategy of Atrium Center's skilled nursing operations. This role provides leadership and direction in all areas of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, reimbursement, payroll, accounts payable, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven healthcare/skilled nursing care environment and possess the ability to manage Atrium's finance team.

Responsibilities

Assist the CFO and other key finance management in developing and monitoring accounting policies and procedures.

Consult and educate leaders on budget tracking and analysis.

Compile and analyze past and current year data to identify and examine trends affecting budget needs.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision‑making by the executive team.

Direct the activities of the Accounting Department with emphasis on timely, accurate, and comprehensive support to the organization.

Oversee the monthly creation of financial statements for individual centers and at the corporate level, including reporting on ongoing financial performance and analyzing variances from the budget.

Interpret and implement accounting policies, and assess impacts of new accounting, fiscal, and regulatory policies.

Support the development and review of internal controls, corporate policies, and procedures covering accounting, auditing, banking, budgetary control, cash receipts, payroll, and insurance coverage in accordance with governmental laws and regulations.

Oversee capital asset management recording, including reconciliation of depreciation, amortization, and gain/loss on disposition accounts.

Maintain, secure, reconcile, and report on all bank accounts, including operational accounts at centers and corporate office.

Assist with tax reporting and compliance, maintaining tax records and schedules.

Direct the tax reporting and compliance function for Atrium’s employee benefit plans and liaise with outside consultants for tax returns and cost reports.

Ensure financial practices comply with federal and state regulations, including CMS and GAAP standards.

Assist with audits, cost reports, and financial portions of surveys and inspections.

Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.

Oversee timely payroll processing, ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws, and manage payroll taxes, deductions, and benefits allocations.

Monitor AP function to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient processing of invoices and payments.

Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to the AP team.

Lead and mentor the finance team, including the controller, accountants, accounts receivable, and payroll staff.

Collaborate with operations, HR, and clinical teams to align financial goals with operational performance.

Work closely with facility administrators to manage facility-level financial performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).

Must have 2-5 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive financial leadership experience in healthcare, with at least 3 years in a skilled nursing or long‑term care setting.

Deep understanding of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and long‑term care financial regulations.

Only candidates with experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility will be considered for this role.
