Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa. PMG provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) missions and other US federal agencies.
We are seeking a highly skilled
Fire Protection Engineer (FPE)
to join our team on site at Naval Support Facility Indian Head, MD. As FPE, you will conduct design reviews and provide expert oversight of fire protection systems construction, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards. Your role will be critical in maintaining the safety and integrity of construction projects.
Key responsibilities
Conduct design reviews for fire protection systems.
Perform on-site inspections of:
Sprayed Fire-Resistant Material
Mastic and Intumescent Fire-Resistant Coatings
Fire-Resistant Penetrations and Joints
Smoke Control systems
Collaborate with contractors, project teams, and inspectors to resolve technical or compliance issues.
Prepare detailed reports documenting inspections, findings, and recommendations.
Ensure all fire protection work complies with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
Provide technical guidance and support to Associate Special Inspectors and project staff.
Qualifications
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Fire Protection or related discipline.
Experience with fireproofing, fire-resistant coatings, firestop systems, and smoke control systems.
Knowledge of ICC, UL, FM, and AABC certifications and standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work on-site in Indian Head, MD and manage multiple inspection tasks effectively.
