Base pay range

$105,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr

Overview Aimbridge Hospitality is seeking a Director of Sales to lead the sales team. The role supports and leads an on-property sales team. The ideal candidate has experience with Marriott, knowledge of the JFK/Queens markets, and the ability to respond quickly to demand changes typical of an airport property.

Responsibilities

Coordinate all group, transient, and catering sales solicitations and bookings to maximize revenue.

Develop, implement, and manage the division's annual budget and the advertising, public relations, marketing and sales plans for the hotel to maximize rate, occupancy and revenue.

Proactively conduct outside sales calls, sales tours, and entertain clients.

Understand contracts and negotiate terms accordingly.

Develop and maintain market awareness to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.

Monitor production of top accounts and evaluate trends within the market.

Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality’s regulations, standards, and sales metrics.

Achieve individual and team goals within approved plans and budgets.

Train hotel staff on recognizing and capitalizing on sales opportunities to increase occupancy and revenue.

Develop knowledge of hotel operations (Sales, F&B, Front Office, Reservations) and maintain strong visibility in the local community and industry organizations.

Attend and/or conduct daily/weekly/monthly management meetings and provide training as needed.

Maintain professional relationships and open communication with internal departments and external partners.

Travel weekly as required and act on behalf of the General Manager in their absence when directed.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred; or a 4-year college degree with at least 1 year of related experience; or a 2-year college degree with at least 2 years of related experience.

Valid driver’s license in the applicable state.

Highly developed verbal and written communication skills to negotiate and influence managers, guests and corporate clients.

Professional selling skills: opening, probing, closing.

Strong analytical skills and strategic vision for sales deployment.

Proficiency in general computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong organization and presentation skills.

Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds and solve complex problems.

Advanced knowledge of sales/marketing/hospitality principles and practices.

Ability to work well under pressure and handle financial information and basic arithmetic.
