We are seeking a proven leader and experienced
Chief Estimator
to oversee and direct our estimating department. The ideal candidate will bring extensive electrical estimating experience, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage a team while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and competitiveness in all bids. Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of estimators, fostering collaboration and professional growth Oversee preparation and review of material and labor cost estimates for proposals and client projects Guide subcontractor solicitation, pre-qualification, and quote evaluation Ensure all estimates meet project schedules, specifications, and scope requirements Review and validate subcontractor and supplier pricing for accuracy and risk considerations Develop and maintain cost history databases, updating benchmarks regularly Provide strategic pricing guidance and value engineering solutions Present estimates, assumptions, and risk analyses to executive leadership Establish department standards, best practices, and process improvements Collaborate closely with project managers, operations, and executives to ensure smooth project transitions Qualifications
Minimum of
10+ years of electrical estimating experience , with at least
3+ years in a leadership or management role Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (preferred; equivalent experience considered) Proven ability to manage teams, delegate effectively, and drive results under tight deadlines Expert-level proficiency in estimating software (Trimble Accubid v16 preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite Strong leadership and team development skills Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities Advanced knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices Ability to analyze risk, manage complexity, and deliver accurate, competitive estimates Working Conditions
