Google Cloud's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. We are looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas across areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile. As a software engineer, you will work on a project critical to Google Cloud’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business grows. You will anticipate customer needs and act with ownership, taking action and innovating. We seek versatile engineers with leadership qualities who are excited to tackle new problems across the full stack.
As a Technical Lead for Google Public Sector Cloud Infrastructure, you will lead the engineering delivery of cloud infrastructure that serves missions within the defense and national security market. You will be involved in security and infrastructure, spanning people, process and technology, with the ability to collaborate across Google engineering organizations to deliver new technology and capabilities. Responsibilities
Apply expertise in cloud computing and experience building and operating software or hardware to drive success in collaboration with engineers and engineering leaders. Drive the strategy and roadmap for infrastructure security initiatives, author and review design documents for security and scalability considerations, and develop and implement automation for security controls and threat detection across the infrastructure. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 5 years of experience testing and launching software products. 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Active, or the ability to obtain, a Top Secret security clearance. Preferred qualifications
Master’s or PhD degree in a technical field. Experience delivering mission solutions to the Department of Defense and other US agencies. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform. Knowledge of government compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 and others. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Compensation and benefits
Google Public Sector brings the magic of Google to the mission of government and education with solutions purpose-built for enterprises. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Salary ranges depend on role, level, and location; recruiter can share the specific range for your location during hiring.
