TE Connectivity's Aerospace, Defense & Marine (AD&M) business unit is seeking an experienced Senior Trade Compliance Specialist for a 6‑month temporary, full‑time remote assignment to support the Global Trade Services (GTS) team. In this role you will be responsible for trade compliance operations, ensuring the timely and lawful movement of export‑controlled goods and technology, and acting as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders by providing guidance on U.S. licensing requirements. The position requires a high level of autonomy, strong working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, U.S. Customs, and ATF regulations, and the ability to follow established TE policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Gather information from the business to support U.S. Government authorization (BIS license, DSP‑license, Agreement, ATF permit, exception, exemption).
Draft, review, and manage export/import license applications, including supporting documentation and oversight related to ATF regulations and U.S. import of items subject to the USMIL.
Determine and document the use of applicable license exemptions and exceptions (e.g., 22 CFR §123.4, 15 CFR 740).
Review and release orders on export hold.
Conduct Restricted Party Screening to support site visitor requests.
Support import compliance activities (e.g., Section 232, Census Warnings, Assist), including documentation review and broker coordination.
Assist with license condition tracking, periodic audits, and authorization record‑keeping.
Partner cross‑functionally with customer service, engineering, logistics, procurement, and program teams, and GTS Operations Service Centers.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of U.S. trade compliance experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or a regulated manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of ITAR (22 CFR), EAR (15 CFR), U.S. Customs (19 CFR), and ATF (27 CFR).
Experience preparing export/import license applications (ITAR, EAR, ATF) and applying relevant exceptions/exemptions.
Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, Law, or related field.
Preferred
Experience with TE systems such as OCR EASE and SAP.
Familiarity with U.S.–Mexico cross‑border trade or USMCA compliance.
Prior experience supporting internal audits, investigations, or government requests.

Compensation
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $88,300–$110,300 (subject to change based on location).
Total compensation includes base salary plus incentives and benefits.
